We build small tools for real problems — Android apps, web utilities, and custom solutions. Got an idea but no idea how to build it? We’d like to hear it.
Here’s what you can use today, and what we’re getting ready to ship. Live means usable. In production means we’re still working on it.

“Ship what you can own. That’s the lane.”
I’m Darrell Batton. Most people call me db. DockLight Labs is my software studio, and Florida Hillbilly is part of the same family. Different projects, same guy.
I started with a TRS-80 and a cassette recorder. Then came the original Macintosh at school, the Commodore 64 and 128, the Amiga, and the first PCs. I bought a $4,000 XT that was obsolete in less than a year. An expensive education.
In the military, I worked with mainframes and alphabet soup like NSA and JCL. Paper tape, punch cards, 9-track tapes, removable disk platters bigger than wedding cakes, and 8-inch floppies. Eventually somebody introduced me to this strange new thing called a CD.
Computers have been there for almost as long as I can remember. The machines change. Figuring out how the pieces fit together — and making them useful — is still the job.
AI tells me I’m good at systems work. And let me tell you why that matters…
Got an idea but don’t know how to make it happen? Tell us what’s getting in your way. We take on custom work, too — small tools, websites, and practical systems. We’d be happy to look at your problem and see whether we can help.
